The script has the lead actor a God-fearing Maharashtrian, who loses his son in a crime and wants justice.
And it is for this role that Manjrekar wants to rope in Bachchan. Bachchan and Manjrekar worked together in Kaante, though it was directed by Sanjay Gupta.
Manjrekar wants Shabana Azmi to play the wife of Bachchan.
Bachchan and Shabana worked together in the 1977 hit Parvarish and later in Main Azaad Hoon, though in none of the films they were paired against each other.
