Amisha Patel has been roped in to take the place of Aishwarya Rai who was recently dropped from Ketan Mehta’s project ‘The Rising’.
Amisha is on cloud nine nowadays. Not because she has replaced Ash in Bobby Bedi-produced ‘The Rising’ which stars Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherji in the leading roles. She is jubilant because she has got a chance to be a part of such an important project.
Says the Patel girl: "It doesn't matter to me who I am replacing, but I am excited since it's a good project. It feels like I am 'rising' because my dream to work with Aamir has come true.”
What particularly excites Amisha about the movie is that it is an international project being made in both Hindi and English.
Amisha says she has no lavish demands like Ash (who allegedly demanded double fee for the movie) and she is happy just to be a part of the project.
‘The Rising’ is based on the 1857 mutiny against the British by Indian soldiers. Aamir plays a Mangal Pandey in the movie while Amisha will play a Bengali girl.
