J.P. Dutta's war drama ' LoC ' is a humble effort to acknowledge the sacrifices made by our jawans during the Kargil war.
Only few know the invaluable contribution of our soldiers in protecting the country than the leading stars of 'LoC' who had to shoot in the hostile terrain where our jawans fight the enemy.
In the movie, Abhishek Bachchan plays the role of Capt. Vikram Batra, a real life character who was posthumously honored with Param Vir Chakra for leading his men to fight Pakistan-backed infiltrators and recapture Point 5140 for India.
Recalling his ordeal while playing the character, Abhishek says: ""We shot at great heights. In one of the scenes, we all had to run and climb mountains. We got there with great difficulty, but collapsed soon after. We were then told that in real life, soldiers climbed 5,000 feet more and that too while fighting the enemy."
To get under the skin of his character in the movie, Abhishek also met Captain Batra's twin brother Vishal in Chandigarh.
When Abhishek sums up his 'LoC' experience he falls short of word to express his gratitude towards those brave soldiers who laid their lives on line.
"When I came back to Mumbai after shooting 'LoC', I realized we live a happy and cozy life only because our soldiers die every day at the border. The movie is our humble tribute to these martyrs," says junior Bachchan.
