Kareena Kapoor’s prostitute act in Chameli may not find many viewers as the theaters owners are shying away from screening the movie when there are other crowd-pulling flicks releasing around the same time.
Chameli producers Pritish Nandy Communications have invested considerably in promoting the movie. But the timing of the movie’s release is quite odd as it comes along with a number of other crowd pullers from Bollywood.
J.P. Dutta’s mega war drama ‘ LoC ’ is already proving to be a rage among the movie buffs and in the offing is Amitabh Bachchan starrer cop thriller Khakee which is also eagerly awaited by superstar’s fans.
In between comes Chameli with an offbeat theme of a one-night meeting between a prostitute ( Kareena Kapoor ) and a bank employee ( Rahul Bose ). Experts opine that the movie may not click among the family audience because of its bold theme. And the absence of any major mainstream hero in the movie might further plummet the viewers’ interest.
