Hungama girl Rimi Sen will be the heroine of Bengali director Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s next film.
Buddhadeb is a name to reckon in the world cinema for his cinematic style characterized by a beautiful blend of poetry and harsh realities of life. His last movie Mondo Meyer Upakhyan (‘Tale of a naughty girl’) was given the National Award last year. The film has also won accolades in international film festivals.
Now, Buddhadeb is moving to his next project, another realistic movie with an earthy story. To play the leading female role the director has signed Rimi Sen, who made her Bollywood debut few months back in Hungama.
Prasanjit (who played the leading role in Chokher Bali) will be the film’s hero.
Rimi says she could not even have dreamed that she would get the main role in Buddhadeb’s movie. “Its an honor for a newcomer like me. I could not ask for more,” says the gorgeous Bengali belle.
