Manoj Bajpai withdraws from Screen Awards nomination

Manoj Bajpai has withdrawn his name from the list of nominations for the 'Screen Awards' to be given away on January 15, according to his Personal Secretary S N Tripathi.
Tripathi said Bajpai was nominated for the 'Best Supporting Role (Male)' category for his role in Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi's Pinjar.
“Bajpai has written to the Screen Awards organisers that he was pulling out of the nomination list as he had been nominated in the wrong category. He had played the lead role in the film'', Tripathi said.
Pinjar based on the trauma of partition has Bajpai essaying the role of 'Rashid' who kidnaps 'Puro' ( Urmila Matondkar ) when she spurns his love. But, during partition, Puro realises his true feelings and accepts him.
Pinjar was the opening film at the International Film festival of India in New Delhi this year.
