Sridevi will make her small screen debut in the TV serial 'Malini Iyer' slated for release today on the 'Sahara Manoranjan' channel.
The serial, which will be aired at 2100 hrs every Monday and Tuesday, will see the sultry South Indian actress playing the title role.
Sridevi is essaying the role of a South Indian lady married to a Punjabi man and how she solves the family problems in her own novel and comic way.
Director Satish Kaushik said this serial was different from other 'Saas-Bahu' serials, as it did not have any family bickerings.
''We have avoided all negativity and concentrated on the positive aspects of the family members. In addition, each episode will have a civic message too'', says Kaushik.
Mahesh Thakur will play Sridevi's husband in the serial, which also stars Vinay Pathak, Tanushri, Vijay Kashyap, Sushma Ahuja, Pallavi Dutt, Naseer Khan, Jaspal Bhatti, Manoj Joshi, Dilip Joshi Kamlesh Ojha.
A few episodes of this sitcom will also be directed by Sanjay Chhel, Nikhil Saini and Sushma Ahuja.
