In Rajkumar Santoshi’s latest film Khakee, Amitabh Bachchan is seen in a cop role he has never played before.
Strong and dominating cop roles can be found by dime and dozen in Bollywood. But in Khakee superstar Amitabh Bachchan sheds the stereotype image to play a failed cop on a dangerous mission.
The film tells the story of a cop (Big B) who has had more failures in his life than successes. On the eve of his daughter’s wedding the cop gets a call of duty. He has to ensure the save transfer of a dreaded criminal from Chandangarh to Mumbai. Along with him are two more cops (played by Akshay Kumar and Tushar Kapoor ).
In fact, apart from acting in the film, Bachchan also contributed during its making by suggesting certain alterations in the plot and screenplay. These suggestions were incorporated in the film.
