In painter-turned-filmmaker M. F. Hussain’s next movie Meenaxi, Tabu will be seen playing a woman of many faces.
From what is known about the story of Meenaxi, the movie is about a popular novelist Nawab (played by Raghubir Yadav), suffering from a severe writer's block for five years.
He meets Meenaxi (Tabu), who slowly begins to dominate him. But there are many sides to her personality. Meenaxi’s different faces are a source of inspiration for the writer. But she dismisses his writing as insubstantial.
Hussain says he chose Tabu to essay the complex role of Meenaxi because she had the aptitude and the talent to do justice to her character.
The film, a collaborative effort between Husain and his painter son Owais Husain, is expected to hit the marquee in the coming weeks.
