About three hundred police officers saw Rajkumar Santoshi’s cop thriller Khakee in the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
It was a case of real life policemen going to see reel cops and coming out with a lesson or two. Three days back, Police Commissioner of the city K.R. Kaushik decided to take his colleagues (that included Joint Police Commissioner and Additional Police Commissioner and a team of junior officers) out to watch the Amitabh Bachchan -starrer Khakee at a cinema theatre.
The film shows Bachchan in the role of an honest cop, who is given a tough duty of shifting a dreaded terrorist to Mumbai. He is accompanied on this mission by two more cops played by Akshay Kumar and Tushar Kapoor .
After seeing the movie the Police Commissioner was sure that many of his colleagues had a few lessons to learn.
“The film depicts the role of the police force in maintaining law and order. I hope those who watched have learnt more about what people expect from us,” he is quoted to have said.
Another officer said that after watching the film a real cop might get another perspective on how to perform his duties even in the most difficult of situations.
