Internationally renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor is making a movie titled Pani, which is set in Mumbai 20 years in future when the water is scarce and people often fight for it.
After lying low for quite some time Kapoor is active once again. Firstly, he is making a big budget movie ‘Tulku’ on the subject of reincarnation. Besides, he is also producing another film to be directed by Maqbool director Vishal Bhardwaj.
And now it is learnt that the man is making a $20 million Hindi film Pani.
Talking about the movie, Shekhar says: "It is set in future when the city is divided into the upper city and the lower city. The upper city is where the 15 percent elite, the super rich population lives, and the rest 85 percent live in the lower city, which is divided from the upper city by a maze of flyovers. The people of upper city suck up all the water and have no links with the lower city. The lower city people work almost as slaves to the upper city.”
Shekhar claims that Pani will be Hindi cinema's 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon'.
