Recently for the first time in his long career, two films having Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role, Khakee and Aitbaar were released on the same day.

The makers of both the films justified their decision of releasing the films together saying that Bachchan had completely different roles in them. Though Khakee did good business, Aitbaar bit the dust at the marquee.

Recently there were reports that Gaurang Doshi’s 'Deewaar': 'Let's Bring The Heroes Home' and Farhaan Akhtar’s Lakshya will be released on he same date. While Deewar had Bachchan as a POW in Pakistan, Lakshya has him as an army officer.

Deewar also has Sanjay Dutt and Akshay Khanna , while Lakshya also stars Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta .

But that plan was shelved as Lakshyawas postponed.

Then came reports that the day Lakshya is slated to be released (June 18), that day Govind Nihalani’s Dev will also be released. Alongwith Bachchan, Dev stars Om Puri , Kareena Kapoor and Fardeen Khan .

But the producers of Dev, perhaps learning from the experience of Khakee and Aitbaar decided to advance their films by a week.

So, as of now, Deewar will be released on May 28, Dev on June 11 and Lakshya on June 18.

The box-office is in for a heavy dose of Bachchan releases.
