Saif Ali Khan’s acting career has got a tremendous boost in last one year. The actor is moving from making marginal appearances to full-fledged roles.
Much has changed for Saif over the course of last few months. The actor first won acclaim with his intense performance in Ram Gopal Varma produced Ek Haseena Thi.
Saif is now awaiting the release of his second solo-hero project Hum Tum in which he plays a cartoonist. Besides this, the actor is also doing an English film titled ‘Akuri’ in which he plays a parsi guy.
And now it is learnt that Saif has been signed to play the main lead in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s film, an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel Parineeta.
The movie will be directed by Chopra’s assistant Pradeep Sarkar.
About his role in the film, Saif says: “I will finally get a chance to play a Bengali character for the first time in my career and also be able to take my mother’s help for the role.”
