At a time when item songs are a fad in Bollywood, Mallika Sherawat has turned down an offer with a price tag of forty lacs to do an item song that was to be shot in a forest.
And that item song was for Aamir Khan starrer The Rising . The sequence was to be Mallika performing for Mangal Pandey (played by Aamir) and his gang in a forest.
Reports are that ‘Kiss Miss’ Mallika refused producer Bobby Bedi to do the song due to date hassels.
But the buzz is that Mallika is looking ahead after the success of Murder and is sure of carving a niche for herself.
So the Jat girl is waiting for meatier roles and turning down offers of item numbers even though they come with a heavy price tag. But they say, that in this bad world of Bollywood, everything is sellable, one just needs to price the tag rightly.
As for now, Mallika is in hibernation ever since her story of being already married broke out.
