Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor has made a sequel to his debut film ‘Hyderabad Blues’ that brought him to notice in Indian film industry. The sequel is titled ‘Rearranged Marriage’ and is based upon a realistic story with which many can identify.
‘Rearranged Marriage’ picks up the story of ‘Hyderabad Blues’ following the six years of the wedding of the two leading characters of Varun (Kukunoor) and his wife Ashwini. In the movie, the two have been well settled with Varun having a good job and a normal social life.
But there is a slight strain in their six-year-long marriage because Ashwini wants a child and Varun does not. In the sidelines are two more characters – Ashwini’s friend Seema and her husband Sanjeev.
Seema runs a marriage bureau called Instant Marriage Fixation. She and Sanjeev have many advises for Varun and Ashwini but all of them appear only non-feasible. Then a third woman enters the picture giving a new twist to the story.
According to Kukunoor, the idea of inclusion of the characters of Seema and Sanjeev was to lend some light humor to the story.
