For a long time, Saif Ali Khan has not been able to earn the status of a solo hero who could give a hit movie entirely on his credits. But now the flamboyant Khan is getting what was long overdue to him.
Not more than a year ago we saw Saif winning many hearts with his commendable performance in Kal Ho Na Ho . But the credit for the movie’s success fell more into the laps of Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta . It was nothing new. Such had been the case with Saif since the start of his career in Bollywood.
But now things appear to be changing radically for Saif. In just last few months, the actor has established a confidence among filmmakers that he can carry a film only his shoulders. His first full-fledged solo-hero performance in Ek Haseena Thi got good appreciation despite the movie’s poor run.
And now with Hum Tum catching the fancy of movie buffs, Saif has earned what was long overdue to him. And he very much deserves it too.
"The tag of a solo-hero hit was long overdue," Saif says, adding that he would concentrate on doing such projects.
