The Shiv Sena has criticised the film Girlfriend , which deals with the subject of lesbianism, and demanded a ban on the film by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Censor Board.
Delhi Shiv Sena leader Abhimanyu Gulati urged all cinema hall owners not to show the Karan Rajdan directed film, which was released Friday, in their halls as it was against Indian tradition.
The Shiv Sena also criticised actresses Amrita Arora and Isha Koppikar for showing lesbianism and said that it was against the dignity of Indian women.
He also urged National Commission for Women to take up the issue of indecent portrayal of women in film and music videos.
