There are talks that Ketan Mehta's The Rising starring Aamir Khan , Rani Mukherjee and Amisha Patel will be made into a trilogy.

If the buzz is to be believed, two follow-ups films of 100 minutes each have been planned to the first film revolving around the life of freedom fighter Mangal Pandey. The initiative is to showcase the fight for Indian independence against the British government.

So while the first part will be set against the backdrop of the 1857 mutiny, the second part will be on the last Moghul Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar. The third part will revolve around the around the queen of Jhansi - Rani Laxmi Bai.

'The Rising' itself is a big project with a host of actors from abroad besides Indian stars. However, it is not clear whether the same stars will feature in the other two parts.
