Amitabh Bachchan has a considerable fan following in UK. Although his recent films may not have set the cash registers ringing, there is still good amount of adulation and admiration for him among UK fans.
The box office success of a film does not necessarily determine the performance of actors. And although the box-office earning of Bachchan’s films has been dipping in UK since last year’s release Baghban , the superstar still enjoys considerable popularity among his fans in this part of the world.
According to the figures released by an entertainment portal, Bachchan’s last release Deewar had an opening of 37,428 pounds, much less compared to his Khakee (which opened at 87,379 pounds) or Dev (which opened at 40,509 pounds).
The earnings of Farhan Akhtar’s Lakshya have been relatively better, but the credit for it goes more to movie’s stars Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta and not to Bachchan who played a marginal role in the movie.
