Manisha to play desi Madonna

In director Jai Prakash's next movie Chaahat - Ek Nasha, Manisha Koirala will be seen playing the character of a pop star created on the lines of international singing sensation Madonna.

After a rather forgettable Market , Jai Prakash is coming with a movie based on the story of competition between two female pop stars.

In the movie Manisha plays a character named Mallika who hogs the top spot in the pop music world until the coming of a young starlet, played by Preeti Jhangiani . Preeti's character in the movie is designed akin to pop sensation Britney Spears.

Chaahat - Ek Nasha also stars Sharad Kapoor , Snehal Dhabi, Sayaji Shinde and Govind Namdeo.

The movie was recently launched at the Filmistan studio where Hrithik Roshan struck the clapboard for the mahurat shot.
