SCOOP!! & NEWS Times do change, it is not ‘Asambhav’ 16th July 2004  12.24 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau   There was a time when distributors used to fall over each other whenever a film directed by Rajiv Rai released. After all, his Tridev was a trendsetter. Then came the Bobby Deol , Kajol and Manisha Koirala starrer Gupt , which was a smash hit and Rai was counted amongst the country’s top-notch directors. But then Rai burnt his fingers with the flop Pyaar Ishq aur Mohabbat, which starred Sunil Shetty , Arjun Rampal , Afab Shivdasani and Keerti Reddy . The film was a love triangle. But Rai seemed to have learnt his lesson after the debacle Pyaar Ishq aur Mohabbat and is back at what he does best: directing an all out action thriller. So we have Asambhav hitting the theatres soon, which stars Rampal, Priyanka Chopra and Nasseeruddin Shah . But the bad news for Rai is that he had to sell the distribution rights Asambhav for Delhi-U.P. circuit at a throwaway price of Rs.71 lakhs. As Asambhav does not star any of the top 5-6 saleable stars, the distributors are vary of paying even enough to cover his cost. Other than Mumbai, many other territories too have fetched similarly low prices.
