Dobara, the Jackie Shroff - Raveena Tandon starrer which also features Pakistani actor Moammar Rana will soon be premiered in Pakistan.
It will be the second film to have its premiere in Pakistan after the Pooja Bhatt -directed Paap which premiered at the Karachi Film Festival this year.
This was informed by Anu Ranjan, executive producer of the film after her visit to Pakistan recently to explore Indo-Pak interface in the fields of cinema and television.
She said in a statement that the premiere would be held shortly in Pakistan along with a charity dinner.
Pakistani film star Moammar Rana makes his Bollywood debut in the film. Ms Ranjan said that inspired by the current air of camaraderie between the two countries, both she and her husband Shashi, who had directed the film, decided to cast Rana in the film. ''Our two countries are cultural twins and we desired to create a movement of mutual co-operation in the genre of cinema and television,'' she said.
Describing her visit to Pakistan as an opportunity to explore the possibility of holding the premiere of 'Dobara' in that country, she said the response had been electric.
Ms Ranjan said that she had met Pakistan Prime Minister Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain as well as his cabinet colleagues and other senior government officials. Ms Ranjan also had extensive talks with the Managing Director of PTV and CEOs of ARY, GEO and Indus Television -- the leading satellite channels there.
