'Julie is not a sleazy film'

Actress Neha Dhupia and director Deepak Shivdasani want people to know that their film Julie is not a sleazy flick.

The 'hot' promos of the movie, showing a barebacked Neha, have created wrong notions among movie fans that 'Julie' is some kind of a soft-porn movie.

Even the movie's story of how a simple small-town girl takes to prostitution in a big city has further fueled curiosity among those viewers who crave from some form of titillation in films.

But both Neha and her director want to clear the wrong notion that 'Julie' is a sleazy product.

This is what Shivdasani has to say about his film: "Perhaps 'Julie' is being perceived as a sleazy product. That can't be helped. I am very confident about my film, specially the climax where I've created a powerful emotional impact. People may come to see skin. They'll leave with soul."

Voicing the same opinion is Neha, who says that the selected sexually explicit scenes in the movie have been shot so aesthetically that the audience will see nothing vulgar in her skin-exposing act.
