Manoj Bajpai , who got the National Special Jury award for his role of Rashid in Pinjar , which was based on partition, will now have to ‘part’ with half of his award.
Bajpai will now have to share his award with Bengali feature film 'Bhalo Teko'.
The award, announced by the 17-member jury headed by veteran filmmaker Basu Chatterjee last Saturday, had not mentioned the name of the Bengali film.
In a press release recently, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry rectified the mistake.
"The Special Jury Award is shared between Manoj Bajpai, actor for the Hindi film Pinjar and the Bengali feature film 'Bhalo Teko'," the release said.
The award carries a Rajat Kamal and a cash prize of Rs 12,500 each.
Marathi film 'Shwaas' took the Best Film honours of the 51st National Film Awards. Pinjar had also bagged the Nargis Dutt award for best film on National integration.
