The successful run of Salman Khan ’s films appear to have ended with his two previous movies not doing well at the box office.
Salman’s good run started with the Satish Kaushik’s Tere Naam , which set the cash registers ringing at the marquee. Then came his ‘coply’ act in Puneet Issar’s Garv , which again caught the audience’s fancy and did a good business. And now that Salman Khan starrers were turning out to be money-spinners, David Dhawan’s comedy Mujhse Shaadi Karogi only consolidated Salman’s box-office value.
But Salman’s good run wasn’t meant to last long.
Despite all the hype associated with Revathy’s Phir Milenge , the movie hasn’t done well at the theatres. The movie’s average print earnings stand at Rs 1,09,226. In fact, the producers of the film have refunded the money to some of its distributors to compensate them for losses.
And the fate of Atull Agnihotri’s Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha looks no more promising. The movie has been termed as too slow, sluggish and over-sentimental by the critics. And its box-office earnings in the first week look quite bleak so far.
