Four films of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan will be screened this week in a festival being held by the prestigious Royal Institute of Amsterdam.
It has been about six years when a festival of Bachchan’s film was held in Amsterdam. Big B apparently enjoys good popularity in that part of the world because of some of his fans.
This week, four films starring Bachchan – Karan Johar's Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham , Rakesh Mehra's Aks , Ravi Chopra's Baghban and Govind Nihalani's Dev – will be screened in the festival.
While Kabhi Khushi… and Baghban are family dramas, Aks is a psycho-thriller starring Amitabh in a role with many shades. Dev, on the other hand, is a hard-hitting exposition on communal riots starring Big B as a cop.
It is learnt that the authorities were apparently keen on screening Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black but the movie isn't ready yet.
Amitabh leaves for Amsterdam on Wednesday despite a severe eye infection.
