Mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan ’s birthday has been marked by big bashes and big announcements for the past two years, but this time on October 11, things might be different.
This time when Bachchan turns 62, there won’t be any big bashes or announcements of new films being launched.
A statement from Bachchan’s office says that there would be a small, informal celebration at his residence.
In 2002, on his 60th birthday, Bachchan announced the engagement of his son Abhishek Bachchan with Karishma Kapoor In 2003, on his 61st birthday—his first after the demise of his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan—he announced the revival of his company ABCL as AB Corp. The occasion was also made special with the launch of his home production, Ranveer. To be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi , the film would have been the first coming together of Bachchan and Abhishek with Sanjay Dutt as the villain.
But now Ranveer has been shelved.
This year, Eveready Company has decided to felicitate Bachchan with a two-km long birthday card. The card will have 2,000 scrolls signed by around six lakh retailers of Eveready across the country.
But there is a good reason for celebration as the junior Bachchan has got his first hit in Dhoom , so you never know when plans may change.
