SCOOP!! & NEWS Amitabh sings for Babul20th Oct 2004 22.00 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau Amitabh Bachchan sang four songs in director Ravi Chopra’s previous film Baghban . And now the inimitable superstar will lend his voice to some songs in Chopra’s next film Babul . An emotional family drama, Babul is a film about a man trying to help his widowed daughter-in-law find a new life after the death of his son. In the film, Amitabh and Hema Malini play the two elderly heads of the household, while Salman Khan plays their son and Rani Mukherjee their daughter-in-law. 
Amitabh had promised on his birthday a week ago, that he would try to revive the magic of his yesteryear films like Silsila and Laawaris by singing a good number of songs in Babul, which is being produced by B R Chopra. The superstar has lived up to his word by recording a song for the movie at Empire's Studio No.1. The song, composed by Aadesh Shrivastava, is set to Sameer’s lyrics. The song also featured professional singers Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan and Sudesh Bhosle. Bachchan is likely to record a few more songs for the film.
