Director Gurinder Chadha ’s Indianized adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel is all set to run in the theatres of Pakistan.
Movie buffs in Pakistan can expect a real cinematic treat when Aishwarya Rai starrer Bride and Prejudice hits the theatres there in the month of December.
According to a report in the Daily Times, the release of ‘Bride and Prejudice’ in Pak will “boost the level of cinematic production in Pakistan.”
“While certain groups in Pakistan have opposed the advance of Indian cinema, many still view this as a necessary stepping-stone to the co-production of films between India and Pakistan," the newspaper added.
Khaliq Chaudhry, the Pakistani distributor of ‘Bride and Prejudice’ said showbiz circles were excited about the film’s release since it would boost an otherwise stagnant industry.
The release of ‘Bride and Prejudice’ in Pak is also supported by Pakistani celebrities like filmmaker Samina Peerzada and actress Sana. Incidentally, Sana is also acting in a Bollywood film with Sunny Deol.
