Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor will direct Hollywood actress Helen Hunt in a film based on a story set against the backdrop of 1994 genocide in Rwanda.
According to a report in the Variety magazine, Kapoor will direct the movie titled ‘100 Days in Darkness’ with Helen Hunt and ‘Amistad’ star Djimon Housou in leading roles.
In the movie, Helen plays an American relief worker while Djimon plays a Tutsi man.
The story of the movie is set in the 1994 Rwandan genocide in which an estimated 800,000 people were massacred.
Kapoor, whose movie ‘Elizabeth’ was nominated for the Oscars in 1998, also has plans to start a film on the life of Gautama Buddha.
