SCOOP!! & NEWS The comedy version of ‘The Godfather’! 26th Nov 2004  17.15 IST By Aparajita Ghosh   It is easy to imagine a more dramatic and serious version of Francis Ford Coppola’s classic ‘The Godfather’, but hard to think of its comic version. That is what filmmaker Priyadarshan claims he has done in his new movie Hulchul . The movie, starring Akshaye Khanna , Kareena Kapoor , Paresh Rawal , Sunil Shetty , Jackie Shroff , Arbaaz Khan and Amrish Puri , is the story of two warring families who are hardbent on taking revenge from each other. However, the movie is not a gangster thriller but an out-and-out comedy. In an interview to a scribe, Priyadarshan has admitted: “Hulchul is my version of 'The Godfather'. I've just taken the brief outline and turned it inside out. You could say this is the comic version of 'The Godfather', just like 'Shark Tale' is the animation version." Priyadarshan went on to add that the feudal setting of Hulchul is derived from his own movie Viraasat. Priyadarshan’s next movie too is inspired from the Hollywood flick ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest’.
