A Magistrate has issued summons to Sunil Shetty and two others in a cheating case filed by a travel company.
The summons, issued by Bandra Magistrate, N Jamadar on a complaint filed by Jaya Tour and Travels, is returnable on March 23, 2005.
The travel company alleged the actor's Popcorn Entertainment Company had arranged a film star night in Canada in March 2003 and requested for three executive class tickets for actor Dharmendra , his wife Prakash and character artist Gulshan Grover .
The complainant said Sheetal Panesar, coordinating the programme, paid for the tickets with an American Express credit card. Three months later American Express called up the travel agent to return the amount saying the person had not acknowledged the transaction.
When the actor and his associates was asked to return the amount they denied the liability and claimed that they had not booked the tickets, the complainant alleged.
Advocate Rajesh Srivastava appeared for the travel company.
