SCOOP!! & NEWS Bachchan likely to attend Dubai Film Festival01st Dec 2004 12.34 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan is among the top celebrities of the film world likely to attend the Dubai International Film Festival next month. The best of Arab and world cinema, along with the rich and famous from the East and the West, will be the big draw at the festival to be held from December 6 to 11, Abdulhamid Juma, CEO of Dubai Media City, said. 
Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman is expected to be there while Omar Sharif will be felicitated with a special retrospective for being one of the most distinguished Arab film icons ever. The festival will screen Subhash Ghai 's Pardes and Taal , the first Indian film to break into the US Box Office Top 20. Omar Sharif's retrospective will include such classics as 'Lawrence of Arabia', 'Doctor Zhivago', 'Funny Girl' as well as the more recent 'Monsieur Ibrahim'. Approximately 75 films will be screened across the six festival venues in Dubai and celebrities and high-profile actors, including Bachchan, Prince Albert of Monaco, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and actress Sarah Michelle Gellar are on the invitee list.
