Subhash Ghai to be honored at Dubai Film Festival 04th Dec 2004

Bollywood director Subhash Ghai will be honored at the first International Film Festival (DIFF) of Dubai beginning December 6.
Around 25 countries would participate in the six-day festival, which will be inaugurated by Prince Albert of Monaco, a DIFF release said in Mumbai today.
The noted Bollywood director will be honored as part of the festival's `Director's in the spotlight' section at the festival, which would also screen several Indian films including Ghai's Pardes , Taal , Boney Kapoor's Mr India and Bharat Bala's `Hari Om', it said.
The international offerings have been grouped into several sections, including Contemporary World Cinema with 12 new features, `Operation Cultural Bridge' with seven films, Cinema from the sub-continent with four features, and a five-film Bollywood Meets Hollywood segment.
Built around the central theme `Building cultural Bridges', the DIFF aims to be a forum for inter-cultural conversation through the work of filmmakers, the release said.
Indian superstars Amitabh Bachchan , Feroz Khan and Anil Kapoor and top Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein are expected to attend the festival, the release added.
