Tabu is playing one of the female leads in film critic-turned-director Khalid Mohammad ’s next movie Silsilay .
Written by Khalid, the film is based on a women-centric theme. It tells the story of three women who are trying to find their own individual identities.
In the film, Tabu plays a woman named Rehana. She is married to a man who indulges in an extra-marital affair. Although she chooses to overlook her husband’s infidelity but she has to eventually face it head on.
As revealed by Khalid himself, Riya plays a 20 something pretty young thing, who works as a telephone receptionist. Jimmy and Ashmit are paired opposite her.
Produced by Vashu Baghnani's Puja Films, Silsilay will have cinematography by Santosh Sivan. It is slated for release in April next year.
