Till now, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Swades was becoming a hit overseas and being rejected by audiences at home. But now reports are coming in that the Ashutosh Gowarikar - directed venture is becoming a hit in India too.
Yes, reports are that the city of Mysore is going mad about Swades in which SRK plays a NASA scientist coming back to India.
Reports say that Swades has already done a business of Rs. 70 lakhs (approximately) in just four weeks in Mysore.
The only other film of 2004 to have done more business than Swades in the circuit is another SRK starrer Main Hoon Na (approximately Rs. 75 lakhs).
Trade reports confirm that another SRK’s blockbuster Veer Zaara would have definitely surpassed the Main Hoon Na figure had it not been for the Kannada film lobby, which had thrown the release schedules of all Hindi films out of gear for about three months.
But for now it is Swades that is ruling the roost in Mysore.
