SCOOP!! & NEWS Vivek to be youth ambassador08th Feb 2005 11.19 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau After working in the tsunami-affected areas, Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi is all set to become the youth ambassador for India at the World Youth Peace Summit in Jordan in September. Vivek will be leading a large delegation of Indian youth to the World Youth Peace Summit which aims to provide a global platform to youth from all over the world to evolve solutions for establishing a peaceful universe, chairman of the World Council of Religious Leaders B K Modi told reporters in New Delhi recently. 
Vivek, whose last film Kisna has flopped at the box-office has won many hearts with his wonderful and appreciable work that he is doing for the tsunami stricken people. Kisna had opened with a pledge and commitment of raising donations for tsunami-victims worldwide. After adopting tsunami-devastated Devanampattinam village, Vivek also got involved directly and get his hands dirty in making the thatched houses, community kitchens and medical camps for the people of Devanampattinam, where at least 71 people were killed and the lives of hundreds of others shattered. No other person deserved to be the youth ambassador for India at the World Youth Peace Summit. |
