Vijay's wife Krishna still cannot believe that her husband has been arrested in UAE on the charges of drug possession. A report quotes her as saying: "I have known him for the past 12 years and he has never taken drugs in his life." 
Krishna has reportedly spoken with Vijay on the phone, but she wasn't able to have a long talk with him. Rajat Kapoor, the filmmaker who cast Vijay in the title role for his National Award winning movie Raghu Romeo expresses his disbelief at the charges leveled at Raaz in Dubai. "I know him to be a simple and good natured person. He smoked normal cigarettes and it is hard for me to believe that a person like him could do drugs," Kapoor told a news channel. Another close friend and associate of Raaz -- Saurabh Shukla, who directed him in Mudda, says: "I can't believe Vijay has been accused of such a thing. As far as I know he has never consumed any drug of any sort. Just how they found marijuana on his person is a mystery to me." However, diplomatic sources in Dubai are quoted to have said that Raaz has allegedly confessed to possessing two sticks of marijuana before Abu Dhabi Customs. Raaz was detained on February 14 in Dubai where he had gone to shoot for a Vikram Bhatt movie. UAE has strict laws and punishment against drug possession and trafficking. If found guilty, a person may face a prison sentence up to seven years. |
