To be compared with his illustrious father Amitabh Bachchan is a praise big enough for Abhishek. But now the junior Bachchan has received a compliment even better than this.
Ram Gopal Varma , who is directing both Abhishek Bachchan and his father in his forthcoming film Sarkaar , has gone on record and called Abhishek a better actor than his iconic father.
Varma is quoted by IANS as saying: “I genuinely believe Abhishek is a better actor than Amitji.”
Varma sounds quite impressed by the effort that has been put by the two Bachchans for their respective roles in Sarkaar.
“The quality of performance I'm getting out of both of them has to be seen to be believed. Of course like every director it was my dream to work with the senior Bachchan,” Varma is quoted.
Varma added that in Sarkaar, he has “tried to re-create the smoldering intensity of the Amitabh Bachchan's persona in the early films like Deewaar, Namak Haraam and Trishul.”
Sarkaar is slated to hit the theatres in the first week of July. However, it may not be the first film starring the two Bachchans together to hit the silver screen as Shaad Ali’s Bunty Aur Babli is slated for an early release.
