After the debacle of his multi-starrer, big-budgeted LoC Kargil , filmmaker J.P. Dutta receded into his cocoon to introspect where he had gone wrong. Now he is back, determined to make a film of international stature.
During the period of his sabbatical from Bollywood, Dutta was in London, keeping away from the new Bollywood trends that he quite cynically compares to the biblical plague.
During this time, Dutta saw films from Chinese and French cinema and is reportedly impressed by the cinematic quality and stature of those films.
IANS quotes Dutta as saying: “In the last one year I've been exposed to the most amazing Chinese films. Look at how the Chinese have broken into international cinema. Why can't we do the same?
Speaking about his own project, Dutta said: “I'll make another film. At this point I can only say, it will be a film that will reach to an international audience. Enough of the kind of films we make.”
About the subject of his film, he said: “I've a couple of ideas in mind, and I'm working on them.”
