A ‘Lucky’ ride!

Love sprouts amidst terror, but has little time to blossom when a sudden twist of fate brings together the two leading characters of ‘ Lucky – No Time For Love ’.

Produced by Sohail Khan in collaboration with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, the movie is set in idyllic locales of St. Petersburg, Russia.

Starring Salman Khan and newcomer Sneha Ullal in the leading roles, the film tells the story of two strangers who meet fatefully and fall in love. But there is no time for love when death hangs over one’s head.

Lucky (Sneha) is the name of the film’s female protagonist, or rather the schoolgirl whose wish (that her exam be cancelled) comes true in a most nightmarish way. Escaping from a roguish character, she breaks in into our hero Aditya’s (Salman) much-cherished Volkswagen. And from then on begins the Lucky ride.

This marks the beginning of a love story that will be tested under the gravity of many life-threatening situations. Seeds of love between Lucky and Aditya are sown in the cemetery where they share many subtly romantic moments. But then the ordeal begins. Terror takes over and the lives of our leading characters appear on the brink.

The film also stars Mithun Chakraborty as Colonel Pindidas Kapoor, the man who comes in as the savior for the couple.

Sneha Ullal is perfectly cast in the role of an eighteen-year-old schoolgirl. She has the required vulnerability, coyness and delicacy that befit her character Lucky.

Salman does make an impact, but not in his romantic moments with Sneha, rather in the moments when the integrity of his character is tested in threatening situations.

‘Lucky – No Time For Love’ marks a noteworthy directorial debut by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The duo is competent in the craft of filmmaking, but has to spruce up their writing skills. Yet the movie is worth a watch.
