You will see the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai in an item song in Bunty Aur Babli , the hot Bipasha Basu in 'No Entry' and of course there is Malaika Arora in Kaal , which was released yesterday. 
Among the newcomers, you will see the buxom Mumait Khan ( of Munnabhai MBBS fame) shaking her booty in a fast paced mystery thriller 'Chocolate' and then there is the gorgeous Cleo Isaacs in Prakash Jha's Apharan. But it is producer-director Vidhu Vinod Chopra who has done something daringly different for his forthcoming film Parineeta which stars Sanjay Dutt , Saif Ali Khan , Raima Sen and newcomer Vidya Balan in the lead roles. Parineeta will have the ageless beauty Rekha in a classically styled item song. But why Rekha? Reports say that Rekha was Chopra's personal choice, because of the glamour and enigma only this diva can bring. Ad-guru Pradeep Sarkar makes his directorial debut with Parineeta, which is an adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyaya's classic novel of the early 20th century. This story focuses on the differences of man and woman's perception of love and commitment. Orphaned at an early age, the young Lolita (Vidya) finds security from a young boy Shekhar (Saif). Lolita is very strong, flexible, innocent and blessed with an intuitive wisdom whereas Shekhar is flawed and victim of his own ego. Both share joys and sorrows together through childhood and adolescence. Amidst all this happening, an intense love develops between the two, which they cannot sense at all. Girish (Dutt) enters the picture as a suave, lively, chivalrous and above all sensitive man, who is also a self-made person. Then there is Koel (Raima) who is carefree, free-spirited young lady. Through Girish's presence Shekhar and Lolita realize that there exists something between them. Their love sizzles and glitters but the twists and turns of the story spin them into a web of suspicion and misunderstandings finally tearing them apart. What follows next is an interesting love story knitted with classic dimensions. Shot in the sleeping hills of Darjeeling and the city of joys Kolkata, Parineeta will enjoy a world premiere on June 10 at IIFA, Amsterdam. |
