Naina to premiere at Cannes 04th May 2005

Urmila Matondkar ’s forthcoming film Naina will premiere at this year’s Cannes film festival.
Written and directed by debutante Shripal Morakhia, Naina is a supernatural thriller about a woman who regains her eyesight after 20 years and begins to see a world different than the one that people see.
The film will be shown in the market section at the Cannes film fest. Distributors from the US, UK and other countries are expected to attend the screening. A few distributors have already evinced interest in distributing the film in their respective countries.
Naina is produced by iDream Productions and is slated to hit the theatres on May 20.
Comparisons have been made between Naina and Urmila’s previous horror flick Bhoot . But Urmila has played down such comparisons by saying that Naina is based on an entirely different theme than Bhoot.
