Ahlawat, the 27-year old Jat from Haryana, has what it takes to make it to the tinsel town – good looks, well-toned physique, 6-feet plus height, brooding intensity, swagger and little bit of attitude. It was not for nothing that when Ramu met Ahlawat, he told him that even though he didn’t have a role for him, he would create one. The result was the movie James . 
In ‘James’, Ahlawat plays a nightclub bouncer. He plays a character who never smiles. However, playing the character in the film was not a cakewalk for Ahlawat. He had to workout extensively to shed the extra flab and bring down his body weight from 100 plus kg to 85 kg. In fact, so committed is Ahlawat to Varma’s project that he turned down an acting offer from Subhash Ghai. “I was shooting for ‘James’ when I got a call from Mr. Ghai.
