SCOOP!! & NEWS D-day closer for Randeep Hooda10th May 2005 19.00 IST By Nitika Desai So far he has been known more because of his relationship with Sushmita Sen than his acting. But Randeep Hooda says that his forthcoming movie ‘D’ will change that. This 28-year old youngster from Haryana has tried hands on various professions before entering the film world. A guy of few pretensions, Randeep has worked as a waiter (in Australia), a cellphone salesman and a cabbie. And he doesn’t consider any work menial.
It was because of his uninhibited attitude that he was roped in by Mira Nair to act in Monsoon Wedding . And now Randeep is waiting to embark on an ambitious Bollywood career with the forthcoming release of Ram Gopal Varma movie ‘ D ’ which is the prequel to the filmmaker’s underworld thriller Company . While Randeep is unwilling to talk about his personal life, he does care to comment that he is unperturbed by the label ‘Sush’s man’. He says: “people will begin to see me as more than that after D”. About the film, he says he plays an ambitious gangster named Deshu in it. He downplays any comparisons of his character to Dawood Ibrahim, but says that Deshu is a man who makes a conscious decision to be a gangster.
