Pakistani actress Meera says she is “overwhelmed” by the warmth and affection she has received in India.
Meera, who will make her Bollywood debut in Soni Razdan’s movie Nazar , has lately been traveling in India to promote the movie. Parallel to this she dedicates herself to what she calls “promoting India-Pakistan amity”.
At a press conference in Lucknow to promote Nazar, Meera said: “I am overwhelmed by the warmth and the attention I have received in India. I particularly liked Delhi and would like to see more of Lucknow during my stay.”
Rumors have also been afloat that Meera is planning to settle in India. The actress, however, denied such reports. She said: “While I would love to get more opportunity to work in India, there is no move to change my nationality. I am proud of being a Pakistani national and have no plans of relinquishing my citizenship.”
In Nazar, Meera plays a dancer named Divya who acquires a unique ability to look ahead into the future. Her clairvoyance enables her to foresee murders. The film has Ashmit Patel playing a cop who takes her help to solve some cases.
