Strange but it is true. The flamboyant superstar of Bollywood feels shy when he sees his own movies.
Shah Rukh Khan ’s movie Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge has created history by becoming the longest running Indian film. It has been in theatres for about 500 weeks and is expected to run at least six more months after which it would complete 10 years of screening at cinema halls.
Over this time, millions of people from various parts of the world have seen the movie. And some have seen it many times repeatedly.
But not Shah Rukh. He has seen the movie only thrice and that too a long time back. And now when the film is celebrating its 500 weeks of run, SRK plans to see it once more with his kids.
An entertainment website quotes SRK as saying: “I'll watch it (DDLJ) with my kids Aryan and Suhana. They've seen bits and pieces of the film on TV. But soon, I'll watch the DVD with them.”
SRK also added that he felt shy to see his own movies. He said: “I am not so self indulgent and I feel shy seeing myself on screen.”
Next month, DDLJ will be released in selected multiplexes. Plans are also afoot to release a double DVD with unreleased visuals, behind-the-scenes footage and the premiere of the film.
DDLJ was the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra. The film starred SRK with Kajol . Other actors in the movie include Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher and Parmeeet Sethi.
