American actress Ali Larter , who is shooting for Willard Carroll’s movie ‘Marigold’ in Mumbai, says the hospitality she has received in India makes her feel ‘like a princess’.
Marigold – An Adventure in India can inarguably be called the first film that marks the coming together of Hollywood and Bollywood. In the film, Ali Larter plays an American actress who comes to India and gets stranded here. As a desperate measure, she agrees to act in a B-Grade Bollywood movie in which Salman Khan plays her dance instructor.
Recalling how difficult it was for her to understand the tempo and beat of Indian music and then dance to it, Larter told an entertainment site: “Initially, it was a nightmare. I love dancing, but this (Indian dance) is so different. The first time I just developed cold feet. Then Salman came along like a knight in shining armor. He took me by my arm and showed me how to go about it.”
Having already worked in Hollywood and now in India, Larter has an opinion about Bollywood that is definitely worth considering. According to her, Hollywood has technical brilliance, but Bollywood has a certain charm that makes its movies vivacious and alive.
According to her, she has “never laughed so much” on the set of any movie as she did while shooting for ‘Marigold’.
Larter says she is overwhelmed by the warmth, love and affection she has received from the people here.
“The real beauty lies in the people. Everyone is so warm and friendly that I feel like a princess here,” Larter is quoted as saying.
Larter also has plans to travel several tourist destinations in the North India. However, she says that would happen on her next trip only.
