One of the most awaited films of this year, Bunty Aur Babli will hit the theatres coming Friday.
Expectations are high that this film by director Shaad Ali will continue the box-office success story of Yash Raj Films, its producers.
There are many reasons that make Bunty Aur Babli worth waiting for. Firstly, the movie features for the first time the father-son duo Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan together on screen. However, they don’t play father-son in the film. On the contrary, the Big B plays an eccentric cop while Abhi plays a fugitive.
The second strong point of Bunty Aur Babli is its light-hearted theme. The film has the Yuva pair – Abhishek and Rani Mukherjee – playing two youngsters Bunty and Babli from small towns of UP. Bunty and Babli have big dreams and to realize them they decide to become con artistes and dupe people of their money.
Another highlight of the film is that Abhi and Rani will be seen donning many guises in it. They will be seen impersonating as spiritual gurus, bureaucrat and secretary, gangster and moll, business partners, hen pecked husband and pregnant wife, lawyer and sexually harassed client, vagabonds and lovers etc.
Days before the film’s release, the exhibitors are excited about the audience response it would generate. According to one exhibitor, this is perfect time for Bunty Aur Babli to hit the theatres as it is holiday times for students. The exhibitor said he was expecting a record opening for the movie.
