Aishwarya to play Samyukta, but for whom?

Two Bollywood filmmakers have been vying to cast Aishwarya Rai as Samyukta, the ladylove of Rajput king Prithviraj, in their period films. However, Ash will work with only one of them.

Raj Kumar Santoshi and Chandraprakash Diwedi, two of the respected filmmakers in Bollywood have plans to make a film on ‘Prithviraj-Samyukta’. The problem is that both want Ash to play the role of the king’s beloved in their films.

In an interview to IANS, Ash conceded that the movie almost happened with Santoshi but then they began another project titled Saamna with Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar .

Meanwhile, Diwedi too had been approaching Ash for the same role in his film. Ash had previously turned down his Pinjar and now the filmmaker was adamant that she does this film.

Seeing no point in working in two different films with the same subject, Ash spoke to both and a decision was reached that she will play Samyukta for whoever makes the movie first.

“They both agreed only one of them would make the film. This was the settlement worked out amicably among the three of us. Both Raj ji and Chandraprakash ji have done ample research and are ready to share their knowledge with each other,” an IANS report quotes Ash as saying.

We know that Santoshi is at present busy with his project Family (starring Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay). His Saamna will go on floors later this year and after completing it he would move to another project with Ajay Devgan.

Diwedi, on the other hand, seems relatively less busy and there is a strong chance that he will make the movie first.
